Chattanooga Part 3

Our Last day we got up and went to the Children;s discovery museum. We were the first ones there and had a blast. Shelly took care of the older boys mostly, so its not favoritism, I just ended up with a ton of pictures of GJ.

of course loves to play in the water.

can you see the combs on the left? He sat watching the bees forever. Then he found this little window where you could watch them flying in and out.
enjoying a little food prep.
digging for dinosaurs. Shelly opted out saying it was too messy. All worth itits showing as for dinosaurs I say.
Shelly's completed house. She got many compliments. (see video below, we probably spent the majority of our time with this)
Boys inside.
GJ was bored of the house. He opted for chillin'
putting the roof on.

Sewing Class is over

Sewing class was only a month, but I really enjoyed it. I learned lots of things I didn't know before and know feel like I can do more and will soon attempt to follow a pattern (as soon as I find time).I learned how to do corners and piping and we made a little picnic placemat and a pillow.

With those skills, I made a little carrier for my crochet needles out of my precious Amy Butler fabric.

And now that I have a hook holder, I started to crochet again. Here is a little heart for some booties for baby Emma, I sure hope they will fit!

Vio-vio-viola...(or violin)

Look how cute and tiny these violins are? SM started with his little friend and though he NO attention span, he will hopefully improve with time. He has a marvelous teacher! Thanks!!!

GaTech Football game

This last weekend we went to (probably) our last GaTech football game. Luckily we played ourselves, so we won (though we didn't make it past half time).
It was a fun day of slides, face painting, the band, and too much sun in the bleachers.
You can just see how thrilled he was to have his face airbrushed.

SM and AP racing up the stairs.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. It was really great, lot of people, tons of eggs, pony rides, baby bunnies, prizes, balloons, and the GTech mascot. Could it get any better? Tad has been MIA for the last 2 weeks, getting home after the kids are in bed due to finishing up his PhD, so it was a nice treat to spend a few hours with him in the afternoon, the boys sure miss him.

Tad and the boys and Buzz
he did so great picking up eggs (he doesn't like chocolate, more for me!)
See how cute my bags turned out?
SM was so excited, he has been practicing all week finding eggs!
more eggs
The camera is a little slow, but that is SM riding the pony.
GJ wasn't too sure about those rabbits.
But they were so cute and tiny!
Both scared to death of the Easter Bunny.

Zoo

I finally got a zoo pass and we went on Friday when I finally had a day off work. Weather was perfect, though it was supposed to be stormy, so it wasn't too crowed for spring break.
In case you want to see more (which who wouldn't want to see more of my darling children?) you can go here. Thanks for coming with us!

Sweetwater

I finally figured out how to get pictures off my phone. Our camera batter charger was left in WA and I have been camera-less since the battery died, so here is a backload off the phone.

We went on a nice hike a few weeks ago when the weather was nice. We were worried about both kids walking, but they both did over a mile and were champs.

Spinning in the chair

Not much going on here. Or too much. The boys were giggling away today while being spun and were so cute. This is right before SM pushed GJ off the chair, thus receiving a large bruise on the forehead. One day I think GJ will be bigger, and then things will be different.

Silver Comet 10K

Maybe you can't tell from this picture, but it was cold, raining, and miserable. I told myself when I woke up if it was raining, I would wear pants, and shorts if it was not. It started raining about 2 seconds after I left. I was not as prepared as I should have been, I hadn't run more than 4 miles since the half marathon last November. My time was not great, but pretty standard for me. Oh well. I did it and now I know better. Still debating Nashville in April though.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We will be eating our shamrock cookies and thinking of you!

Finally Friday!

We have so much reorganizing to do this weekend, I am in a big spring cleaning mood! Plus I love yardwork and I am a little bummed it will probably rain all weekend. More so because I have a 10K race tomorrow too. Here is a picture of my GJ. He is growing so fast. He is at that wonderful stage where he will just sit for 20 minutes with an activity. This food cutting is one of his favorite. He is talking so much now, but we really have to pay attention to understand him! He does have NO! down perfectly though.

Sister's Weekend

I love Sister's weekend. It was sad not all could make it, but 4 out of 6 isn't bad. At the end of my month-long vacation/work trip in WA, we all flew into Phoenix where Tad met me and took the kids for the weekend at his brothers and I left with my sisters. We went to a small city out in the desert that is only really open in the winter. We visited my grandparents and had a great time and enjoyed some wonderful weather.
Sorry your head got cut off Shell.

Getting ready to drive off into the sunset.
You can tell we don't get to see a lot of cactus.

Is it spring yet?

It was so warm and nice today, we made a trip to Home Depot and got some things to start our compost and the garden. I still can't find any vermiculite, but I will keep looking. Soil is ready, I am ready, but I am afraid of another frost, so I might wait a few more weeks. I loved Seattle, but I am happy to be home and in the WARM weather!
Any suggestions on what I should plant this year?

Its official...I'm 30

I am trying to be okay with that. I am still young, right?Julie made me a delicious cake.

And it was a very lowkey rainy day (without the planned trip to the zoo)

But I did get a free haircut.

Gone Fishin'

We went to this great U-Fish place on Sat and all the kids got to catch at least two fish. The problem was it was so easy, we could have caught way more. They had some huge 25 lb trout, but we just stuck to the little ones. Shawn said if they caught them, they had to watch them being cleaned. Yuck. SM didn't seem to mind.
Here is Emma netting our fish. I didn't get one of him holding it up, but he had a really good time. GJ got to stay home and sleep and SM kept telling me he didn't want to go and he was tired. Of course by the time we got there, he had a great time. Nana fried them up fresh that night, they were delicious.
