Spinning in the chair

Not much going on here. Or too much. The boys were giggling away today while being spun and were so cute. This is right before SM pushed GJ off the chair, thus receiving a large bruise on the forehead. One day I think GJ will be bigger, and then things will be different.

Silver Comet 10K

Maybe you can't tell from this picture, but it was cold, raining, and miserable. I told myself when I woke up if it was raining, I would wear pants, and shorts if it was not. It started raining about 2 seconds after I left. I was not as prepared as I should have been, I hadn't run more than 4 miles since the half marathon last November. My time was not great, but pretty standard for me. Oh well. I did it and now I know better. Still debating Nashville in April though.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We will be eating our shamrock cookies and thinking of you!

Finally Friday!

We have so much reorganizing to do this weekend, I am in a big spring cleaning mood! Plus I love yardwork and I am a little bummed it will probably rain all weekend. More so because I have a 10K race tomorrow too. Here is a picture of my GJ. He is growing so fast. He is at that wonderful stage where he will just sit for 20 minutes with an activity. This food cutting is one of his favorite. He is talking so much now, but we really have to pay attention to understand him! He does have NO! down perfectly though.

Sister's Weekend

I love Sister's weekend. It was sad not all could make it, but 4 out of 6 isn't bad. At the end of my month-long vacation/work trip in WA, we all flew into Phoenix where Tad met me and took the kids for the weekend at his brothers and I left with my sisters. We went to a small city out in the desert that is only really open in the winter. We visited my grandparents and had a great time and enjoyed some wonderful weather.
Sorry your head got cut off Shell.

Getting ready to drive off into the sunset.
You can tell we don't get to see a lot of cactus.

Is it spring yet?

It was so warm and nice today, we made a trip to Home Depot and got some things to start our compost and the garden. I still can't find any vermiculite, but I will keep looking. Soil is ready, I am ready, but I am afraid of another frost, so I might wait a few more weeks. I loved Seattle, but I am happy to be home and in the WARM weather!
Any suggestions on what I should plant this year?

Its official...I'm 30

I am trying to be okay with that. I am still young, right?Julie made me a delicious cake.

And it was a very lowkey rainy day (without the planned trip to the zoo)

But I did get a free haircut.

Gone Fishin'

We went to this great U-Fish place on Sat and all the kids got to catch at least two fish. The problem was it was so easy, we could have caught way more. They had some huge 25 lb trout, but we just stuck to the little ones. Shawn said if they caught them, they had to watch them being cleaned. Yuck. SM didn't seem to mind.
Here is Emma netting our fish. I didn't get one of him holding it up, but he had a really good time. GJ got to stay home and sleep and SM kept telling me he didn't want to go and he was tired. Of course by the time we got there, he had a great time. Nana fried them up fresh that night, they were delicious.

Let's Bowl!

Friday night we had a fabulous time bowling for my pre-birthday celebration, then eating pizza at Shawn and Fran's and playing with all their toys.

Train table is the most fun. Just look at all those cousins.
Picking the right ball is important.
Julie always looking good.
SM got a better score than me, but he did use the guide and the bumpers. At least I can beat him on the Wii.

PNW

We have been missing dad, but really enjoying our time in WA. Two weeks down and two weeks to go till we meet him in AZ. This weekend we made it down to my sister Karli's house and have been having fun playing Wii and watching the girls play basket ball (aside from the stomach flu both kids have. Yuck). Here are some pictures and you will not get these from K ever. Classic Haylee face.

SM and his twin. They are having so much fun playing (unless bubby tells me SM needs a spanking)

Megan is pretty good!

The boys playing around after preschool.

Opening valentine's at school.

My fake pink hair.

Cousins playing 'rocket'

Jumping in the snow.

We also made it to the Musuem of Flight with some good friends which was tons of fun!

Biker Dudes

Its been a rough week. GJ ended up having a little out-patient surgery Wednesday on his leg due to his infection. We are almost back to having a healthy boy and he is only crabby when it comes to changing bandages. SM went to the dentist for the first time this week and though he barely opened his mouth, we were able to get through it without any freak-outs.
Our new favorite activity is racing the bikes around the house. Very safe, I know. Hopefully this week will be great, because Sat we leave for Seattle!

boys

SM is actually taking naps with L here. She forces him to quiet time (so did I) but for some reason he falls asleep. I don't get the magic. Here he is sleeping under the body pillow. Whatever works, kid. (he is also into picking out his clothes now, as you can see)
I love having a vacation day. We had crepes this morning with fresh strawberries (great sale at Kroger!) and I even squeezed in a nap. I was up way to late last night with GJ, he is having more problems with his skin so we made a quick trip to Scottish Rite and now he has to take this terrible medicine (its says mix it with chocolate syrup!) but at least he will get better. And isn't he cute? L loves to do his hair in the morning. He is learning to get along better with his cousin, but still managed to bite her this morning. Lovely.

Picture tag

The rules are you post the 4th picture of the 4th folder, 8th picture in the 8th folder, 12th picture in the 12th folder and the 16th picture in the 16th folder. Then tag others to do the same.
I can't get the 2nd one to load, so I am tired of messing with it. Has anyone else just in the last few months started having a hard time with pictures? It used to be so quick and easy, and now I have to try two or three times for it to work.

January

No, we haven't raked all the leaves yet and Yes, its that warm outside. But now its raining, but that's okay, we need to start the year out wet so we can get out of the drought.
SM has successfully learned to pump.

Happy Birthday Tad!

We had nice childfree dinner and an eggless cake with homemade chocolate ice cream. Can't believe its been another year!
(we left a small peice unfrosted for GJ, that is why it looks weird)

3 peas in a tub

GJ is still trying to adjust to a little girl in the house.

Happy New Year

We had a really nice Christmas with some family, and I can't believe its back to work and the start of 2009. Here's hoping to graduation and a new job.
SM sure loves his new bike and rides it every chance he can get.

Merry Christmas!

We didn't get cards out this year, so sorry, we are alive and happy. The kids were very spoiled this morning.

Tad is still in school. He had a good year studying and feels like he is getting close to graduating from GaTech in 2009. We hope. He is busy with the bishopric, school and playing with the kids when he is at home.

WD is busy working fulltime at Coke, taking care of the boys, supporting her husband, planning all the ward activities, and ran 2 half marathons this year. She also took a guitar class and loves it, though has little time to play.

SM is growing so big. He is full of energy and always saying things that make us laugh. He loves to help in the kitchen and loves preschool.

GJ had a rough year with being the younger brother, breaking his leg and finally learning how to walk. He has made so much progress in the last few weeks. He has really gone from a baby to a toddler. He loves to say "no, no, no!" He is talking more and more and sure loves his mom.

We love being able to blog and keep up on so many others who do the same that are so far away. Have a wonderful holiday, and remember why we have it! We are so grateful for the Saviour.

Finally Walking

Its been a rough year for GJ. He just hit 18 months and he finally has enough courage to take some steps by himself. He is still pretty timid and slow, but for us its major progress and we can officially say he walks!
