Someone call the Fire Department

You could say we had a series of un/fortunate events.

This week I got pink eye and gave it to GJ (Hence the glasses). Fortunately, no one else in the house got it and it is now cleared up.

Yesterday at 1:16am, I turned 29. Fortunately, I was asleep at that time and Tad got up with the kids so I got to sleep in (c'mon, like 8am.) Being almost 30 is not so bad (that is what I tell myself)

Tad had to go treat cells at school all morning. Unfortunately, when I tried to take the boys grocery shopping, a random dog attached SM on our way down the driveway and even after several hard kicks, it wouldn't stop (picture me holding a 25lb baby and trying to save my poor son from this excited dog nipping and licking him which he is alergic to). He was not really teeth bared biting, but it was still traumatic for us all. We finally made it back to the house and several hives and Benadryl later, I was too worked up to venture out again.

Since I slept in, I was still able to do our big run on. I was fine with doing 6 miles, but fortunatly, my wonderful running partner is so good for me and decided we need to do two more. The competitive girl I am, if she can do it, I can! (though I run much slower!) I made her tell me a story and pester her with questions the whole time so fortunately, the last two miles went really fast (though I definitely feel it! That is the longest I have ever run, now we are over half way to the half marathon!)

We went to Five Guys, my favorite hamburgers for dinner (I know not fancy at all, but I was happy) and then played Settlers. Fortunately, we won! Unfortunately, we were up till midnight doing so and I am so tired! We were over 30 minutes late to church, but it all worked out!

MMMM...toes

He is now going to all fours, but just hangs out. He can push himself backwards, but not really crawl. He started clapping this morning too, it was so cute, he puts his hands very wide! Can't believe he is 8 months already!

Amilia Cabrera is finally here!

My sister had her first baby 4 days late on Feb 12, 2008. She was 5lbs 15 oz and is so cute, I am trying to find a ticket to Puerto Rico so GJ and I can go see her!

Dia del Amor

Five years ago on this date, I had managed to have the apartment to myself; all 3 roommates had taken off, probably at the Tanner building. We scooted the couch over to Jenelle's little 14" TV. He brought over a deep dish style Papa Murphy's (hello, delicious, why are these not in ATL?) pizza. We watched Unbreakable. And for the first time, he held my hand. I love him. (these were part of our engagement pictures years ago)

Silver Comet Trail

I kind of feel silly we had never gone to this trail though its less than 5 miles from our house. The Silver Comet Trail goes over 50 miles and is paved all the way to the Alabama border. It was very nice, very flat (I can't wait to run there) and it felt very safe, there were tons of people out yesterday. I wish SM could ride a bike, its just perfect. It made me want to go buy a bike or some rollerblades. Can you have baby in a snugli in roller blades? Probably not. We didn't get that far as I still feel pretty lousy but we will for sure be going back.

Fun at the park

Today is raining and miserable, though I haven't seen any tornadoes yet so I can't complain too much. But I am officially sick , so that sure doesn't help. We did have nice weather this weekend though and for February, it was nice enough to venture to the park.

Rally with Romney

So good and bad: SM has a red eye. Phone nurse said it wasn't pink eye so I took him to school, who called me the second I got home to come pick him up till I had a doctors note. So instead of going to the doctor, I was able to attend the rally at Georgia Tech. It was really neat, I know it was just a fast talking politician, they all are, but it was fun. My main issue is the economy and I think he is the best one for the job. SM wasn't having the greatest time and it was super hot, but I am so glad we went. (turns out I am glad we went to the doctor though as he has a sinus infection and is on antibiotics. I am 0 for 2 at taking kids to the doctor now this month)

Here are the boys right before he came out (waiting, waiting, waiting, 3 introductions later...) People would also break out in chants: Mitt is it
Then here he is speaking.

More speaking.
And the best part even though this is a bad picture is when I muscled my way to the front and there he was! He shook my hand, I felt really cool. You can see how close I was though.
Then it was over, Tad wasn't able to work his way up, he was holding SM and might have caused someone injury. But we were walking out and most of the people went out the front and we were going out the back and here comes Mitt again out of a back hallway. Tad yells "Go Mitt!"and he said thanks or something. It made him feel better even though he didn't get to shake his hand, he was able to say he talked to Mitt!

A few of my favorite things...

I know I go through stages, but here are a few things that I love right now.

I love this stuff. Its delicious. The cran-raspberry cannot be beat. Probiotics are supposed to keep you healthy. I don't know all the details, but Tad sent me an article on reducing excema in babies if nursing mothers consume a lot so I am trying to drink one a day so GJ has better skin. There may me several other factors, but his skin is way better than SM's ever was, so I am a believer so far. Plus they are just the perfect size. And SM will rarely eat more than two bites of a yogurt after we open it, but he loves to drink these.

I convinced my mom to send me her extra magic bullet (why she had 2, I don't know) but I have been loving it and use it almost every day. Shakes, perfect. But the main use now is baby food. I can throw any type of frozen veggie or fruit in there and we are in business. It has nice small cups too. It is a pain to blend baby food in the blender and then even harder to get out. But this little one does the job perfectly. I much prefer fresh food to canned baby food as well & its nice to just throw whatever we are having for dinner in there.

These are my favorite. Look how small they roll up. They are called envirosax and come in such pretty patterns and are twice as big as a grocery sack and I can easily fit the set in my purse on my way to the store, or just always have one in there just in case I run an errand. We had way too many grocery bags and even though Tad likes them to put in the garbages, I think it was well worth the expense in my quest to save the planet. I still have a long way to go.

A vitamin thats a gummi bear? Need I say more? Why didn't they have
these when I was a kid?

What are some of your favorite things?
